Exercise Your Power

Exercise your power by remaining rooted in God and firmly grounded in His Word
Many believers have allowed their hearts to become hardened because they have placed their confidence in people and material possessions rather than remaining firmly rooted in God.

Scripture warns us that such things will characterize difficult times.

Jesus said in Matthew 24:12 that because lawlessness would increase, the love of many would grow cold. In 2 Timothy 3:2–4, Paul warns that people would become lovers of themselves and lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God.

When our faith is not rooted daily in the unshakable, irrefutable and impregnable Word of God, we become vulnerable to deception.

One of the enemy’s strategies is to gradually weaken believers through lies and deception until sin begins to harden the heart.

But you do not have to allow that process to take place in your life.

Seek God daily.

Your daily walk with Him allows you to be strengthened and fortified by His Word.

Hebrews 3:14–15 reminds us that we have become partakers of Christ if we hold firmly to our confidence to the end. And when we hear His voice, we are warned not to harden our hearts.

The enemy has always worked through deception. He seeks to distort truth, lure people into sin, accuse, slander, tempt and destroy.

But Jesus recognized the strategies of the enemy.

He was never intimidated by them.

Through the power and anointing of the Holy Spirit, Jesus exercised authority. He rebuked the enemy and confronted the powers of darkness.

As believers, we should not live as though the enemy does not exist. His strategies are real.

But there is something you must remember:

The power within you is greater than the power of the enemy.

You do not have to face the challenges of your life intimidated, defeated or powerless.

God has given you spiritual authority, and you are called to exercise that authority in faith, while remaining rooted in His Word and dependent upon Him.

Whatever challenge you are facing today, do not allow fear to determine your response.

Do not allow deception to weaken your faith.

Do not allow your heart to grow cold.

Stay close to God.
Remain grounded in His Word.
And exercise the power He has given you.

You are not called merely to know that God’s power is available. You are called to walk in it.
