ELOLO VOICES · A WORD FOR YOUR DAY

Humble Yourself

Scripture Focus — Psalm 24:1; Psalm 34:18; Proverbs 3:5–6; 1 Peter 5:5–6.

““Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time.” — 1 Peter 5:6 (KJV)”

Humble Yourself Under God’s Mighty Hand!

You do not have to wait until you reach the end of the road, where there is no way left to turn. The Holy Spirit can give you the power to die to self.

When you get off the throne of your life, the responsibility for your physical body becomes God’s instead of yours. When you surrender, the responsibility for choosing even a life partner is no longer yours alone. And the responsibility for that unsaved son, daughter, husband or wife is no longer yours to carry. It belongs to the Lord.

Why?

Because the earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it. The world and all who dwell in it belong to Him (Psalm 24:1).

When you take your hands off and come to a place of total surrender, you acknowledge that everything belongs to God.

Today, humility is the answer.

Psalm 34:18 reminds us that the Lord is near to those who are brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.

In 1 Peter 5:5–6, we are instructed to submit to one another and clothe ourselves with humility. God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble. Therefore, we must humble ourselves under His mighty hand so that He may exalt us in due time.

How often do we pray, “Lord, make me humble”?

But God says, “Humble yourself.”

You may not know how God will answer your prayer. Perhaps you are facing sickness, a personal problem or a financial need. You may have exhausted every human possibility and still find yourself without an answer.

But remember: God is still on the throne.

He is waiting for you to humble yourself, stop leaning on your own understanding and surrender completely to Him.

That is when you will discover that He is right by your side.

An Invitation to Total Surrender

Today, I invite you to take this marvelous step toward victory.

Humble yourself before your Heavenly Father.

Place every preconceived idea, every tradition, every denominational attachment, every doctrine and every human way of thinking on the altar.

Surrender everything to God.

As I pray for you this morning, I invite you to make this declaration of faith, with power and authority, preparing yourself to move forward into the next chapter of your life.

Please, repeat after me:

I surrender all. I have no power in myself to carry this burden. I have no power in myself to fight this battle.
I have no power in myself to bear this pain.

I am not able in myself. I surrender all to God.
