Never Let Go of God’s Promises

Never let go of God’s promises. Scripture tells us that God is not a man that He should lie, nor a son of man that He should change His mind. Has He said something and will He not do it? Has He spoken and will He not make it good?

Beloved, there are three simple truths we must understand about the promises of God. They are based upon His unfailing record. God has always been faithful to His Word.

Therefore, do not be afraid. The God who made the promise is able to fulfil it.

When this truth becomes settled in our hearts, there will be no more doubting, vacillating or constantly questioning whether God will do what He has said.

God never fails. He fulfils His promises.

When Israel first came to the border of the Promised Land, they did not enter. Years later, Israel returned, and this time Joshua led the people across the Jordan to take possession of what God had promised them.

If we are going to stand upon God’s promises, there are three important truths we must settle in our hearts.

First, there is divine stability and constancy in every promise of God.

His promises do not fluctuate with circumstances. What God has spoken remains dependable because His character does not change.

Second, the promises are given to us by a God who cannot lie.

Our confidence is not merely in the promise itself; our confidence is in the One who made it.

Third, the promises of God are made sure in Christ.

Through His death, Jesus established the covenant through which the promises of God become ours. Our confidence therefore rests ultimately in Him.

Consider Abraham.

God promised Abraham a son even though he and Sarah were beyond the natural years of childbearing. Human circumstances appeared to contradict the promise, but Abraham continued believing God.

Like Abraham, you must keep the vision God has given you alive by faith.

Keep the vision of your healing alive.

Keep the vision of your household salvation alive.

Keep the vision of your ministry alive.

Keep the vision of God’s provision and prosperity alive.

Keep the vision of every promise God has given you alive.

The promises of God are not merely passing words. When God has supernaturally birthed something within you, you must continue to hold it by faith.

Never let go of the promises of God.

Abraham did not receive God’s promise and then become indifferent about whether it would ever happen. He lived with expectation. The promise influenced the way he saw his future.

He waited.

He expected.

He prepared.

And he positioned himself to receive what God had promised.

Perhaps circumstances around you today appear very different from what God has spoken to you. That does not mean His promise has changed.

God is able. Stand fast.

Do not allow delay to become doubt. Do not allow circumstances to make you abandon the vision God has placed within you.

The One who made the promise is faithful.

Never let go.
