“Knowing His Will, Trusting His Word, and Praying in Faith”
Do You Know the Will of God?
Beloved, one of the most important things we need to understand as believers is the will of God.
Why?
Because our confidence in prayer is deeply connected to what we believe about God’s character, His promises, and His purposes for our lives.
How can we pray confidently for healing, deliverance, restoration, or victory if we do not believe that God is good, compassionate, and powerful enough to intervene?
Faith becomes stronger when it is rooted in the knowledge of God’s Word.
We cannot build lasting confidence on assumptions, emotions, or circumstances. Our faith must rest upon what God has revealed about Himself.
Jesus Christ Reveals the Will of God
In 1 John 3:8, Scripture declares:
“For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.”
Jesus came to confront the power of sin, darkness, and evil.
Matthew 8:17 also reminds us that Christ took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses.
Through His life and ministry, Jesus demonstrated the compassion of God toward suffering humanity.
He healed the sick, restored the broken, forgave sinners, and proclaimed the kingdom of God.
Above all, through His death and resurrection, He opened the way to salvation and reconciliation with the Father.
God’s desire for humanity’s salvation is expressed beautifully in 2 Peter 3:9:
“The Lord is not slack concerning his promise […] not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”
God’s heart is revealed in Jesus Christ.
When we seek to understand His will, we must begin with His Word and the person of His Son.
The Prayer of Faith Must Be Rooted in God’s Word
Beloved, prayer is not merely about expressing our desires.
It is about bringing our hearts into agreement with God’s truth.
We can pray boldly because God is faithful. Yet genuine faith also recognizes His wisdom and sovereignty.
The confidence of faith does not come from our ability to control outcomes. It comes from knowing the One to whom we pray.
True faith is not confidence that God must do everything we desire. It is confidence that God remains faithful to His Word.
And this brings us to a fundamental truth:
God’s Word Is Infallible
The only completely trustworthy foundation for our faith is God’s Word.
People may change.
Circumstances may change.
Human promises may fail.
But God remains faithful.
In Titus 1:2, Scripture describes Him as the God who cannot lie.
Hebrews 6:18 likewise reminds us that it is impossible for God to lie.
Therefore, when God speaks, His Word carries the authority of His character.
Psalm 119:89 declares:

“For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven.”
What a powerful assurance!
God’s Word does not become true because circumstances agree with it. God’s Word is true because God Himself is truth.
The Creative Power of God’s Word
Consider the beginning of creation.
God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.
He commanded the dry land to appear, and it appeared.
He spoke, and creation responded.
The universe itself bears witness to the creative authority of God’s Word.
But there is something even more wonderful.
John 1:1–3 reveals that the Word was with God in the beginning, that the Word was God, and that all things were made through Him.
Then John 1:14 declares:
“And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us.”
That living Word is Jesus Christ.
The same divine Word through whom creation came into existence entered human history to reveal the Father and accomplish our redemption.
The written Word reveals God’s truth, and Jesus Christ, the living Word, is the fullest revelation of God’s character and saving purpose.
Heaven and Earth May Pass Away
Jesus made an extraordinary declaration in Matthew 24:35:
“Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.”
Think about that.
Everything around us is subject to change.
Our situations change. Our strength may fluctuate. Our expectations may be disappointed.
But the truthfulness of God’s Word remains.
This is why our confidence must never depend entirely on what we see or feel.
When circumstances seem uncertain, we can return to the promises of God.
When answers appear delayed, we can continue trusting His faithfulness.
When life becomes difficult, we can remain anchored in His truth.
Our circumstances do not determine whether God is faithful. His character establishes His faithfulness.
A Word for Your Day
Beloved, today I want to encourage you to examine the foundation of your faith.
Are you trusting God’s Word, or are you allowing your circumstances to define what you believe?
Are your prayers rooted in Scripture, or are they driven entirely by fear and uncertainty?
Remember that knowing God’s will is not simply about discovering what God can do for you.
It is also about understanding who He is, what He has revealed, and how He calls you to live.
As you grow in the knowledge of His Word, allow your confidence, obedience, patience, and trust to grow with it.
You may not understand everything God is doing, but you can trust the God who cannot lie.
Today's Declaration of Faith
Today, declare with confidence:
My God cannot lie.
His Word is forever settled in heaven.
His Word is truth.
Jesus Christ is the living Word of God.
I will build my faith upon His promises and trust His wisdom in every circumstance.
I will not allow fear, uncertainty, or temporary situations to become greater than the truth of God's Word in my heart.
Let Us Pray
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for revealing Your heart and Your purposes through Your Word.
Open our understanding so that we may know Your will and walk according to Your truth.
Strengthen our faith when circumstances seem uncertain.
Teach us to pray with confidence, humility, and complete dependence upon You.
May we never place our trust in changing situations, but in Your unchanging character.
Let Your Word become the foundation of our decisions, the source of our hope, and the light that guides our steps.
In the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
Amen.
