Right or Wrong Thinking?

Beloved, I am here today to share a few thoughts with you.

Today’s devotion has to do with right and wrong thinking.

We think all day long. Our thoughts influence our words, our decisions, our attitudes and ultimately how we deal with life. Many of our struggles also originate in the mind.

The Bible shows us that God is interested not only in what we do, but also in how we think. Romans 12:2 calls us not to conform to the pattern of this world, but to be transformed by the renewing of our minds. Philippians 4:8 tells us to think on whatever is true, honorable, just, pure, lovely, commendable, excellent and worthy of praise.

Wrong thinking limits what we believe is possible

Wrong thinking is often a source of fear, hopelessness and spiritual weakness. It says: “The problem is too big.” “We cannot afford it.” “Nothing will ever change.” “I am not good enough.”

We face real challenges, but we are not called to think out of fear and limitation. We are called to think out of faith.

David did not see Goliath the way everybody else saw him. Others saw an impossible opponent; David saw the situation from the perspective of faith. When Jesus saw thousands of hungry people, the disciples saw a lack of resources. Jesus saw an opportunity for God to provide.

Right thinking begins with God’s perspective

Right thinking does not mean ignoring problems. It means viewing our problems in the light of God. Renewing the mind does not happen automatically; it is a daily decision.

Ask yourself: Which voices are shaping me? Which thoughts do I allow to flourish in my mind? Do I speak words of hope, or words of resignation?

Your thinking creates an atmosphere

Our thinking does not remain private. It shapes our words, attitudes and ultimately the atmosphere around us. If we constantly say, “This will not work,” “We cannot do it,” or “We never complete anything,” we eventually lose strength.

Right thinking sounds different: There is a way forward. God can open a door. Every person counts. Every small step matters. We do not have to solve everything alone.

Jesus also teaches us to see people through God’s eyes. He did not define people by their limitations. He approached them with dignity, attention and love.

Maybe God does not need to give you a new strategy today. Maybe He wants you to renew your thinking first. Thinking is not a side issue; it is a spiritual key.
